We posted Coco and got responses from New York to California. She finally found a home just 25 minutes from her home. She is a service dog and the new mama needed that. So happy for our niece Coco who is able to continue her work helping people. I know my brother and sister in law in heaven are smiling down on Coco and her new mom. Thank you, Rescue Me, for your help getting the word out.

Rescue Me was so simple to use and post my pet! There was an insane amount of amazing people who reached out and showed interested for my dog. I am thrilled with Rescue Me's service and their network. ANYONE looking to adopt/have their animal adopted should definitely go through Rescue Me!

Benny was rescued from a high kill shelter and had been attacked by another animal, and he came to us with stitches in his neck, kennel cough, giardia, and he was not even neutered. Benny cleaned up beautifully, and with his sweet and gentle demeanor was quickly adopted Thank you Rescue Me once again for bringing yet another wonderful new human companion for our precious boy, Benny. His new family love and adore him and we could not be happier for everyone, especially our sweet Benny!

I want to thank Rescue Me For everything they have done, by allowing me to post snickers on the site, providing certain tools like the urgent alert for when he was at risk of being put down by the shelter! I now can say thanks to this site that my baby is now on his way to a new stable home that I'm sure he will love! He's on his way there now with this amazing person who stepped in and taking him as her own when he needed it. Thank you, Rescue Me, for saving my dog and allowing an amazing foster/new owner to see him and adopt him! Without this site, he would have been dead, but thank you to all who were concerned and contacted me and helped me.

Thank you so much, Rescue Me! We rescued a miniature pinscher (Raskel) from a puppy mill who was temperamental due to being abused and neglected. Although he is beautiful, we knew it would be a challenge to place him. We were completely honest in his bio. Tonight we received a call from a lovely young lady who was so so excited to meet Raskel! I could tell she was close to tears with excitement when I told her he was still available. She came to the house an hour later. She was sold on Raskel right away. It took him a little bit to warm up to her, but she was awesome with him. She had a min pin before and completely understood his nature. We gave her his blanket, which she wrapped him in and she held him as he was on his back and she walked him out the door. We are so thrilled he has a wonderful human than understands his special nature and whom he trusts. She belongs to Raskel now and it's a beautiful thing.

My Hankie Spankie (that's what I liked to call him) was adopted. After only a half hour of posting, I received a call from a family that has been waiting for a Brittany for two years. I met with them and felt that they were a perfect fit. He is now living with a new family; Dad, Mom, Sister and has a brother (golden lab Gryffin). I am so incredibly happy to have found such a wonderful family to take him and give him a home. Losing my brother was hard enough, but then when I had to find a place for Hank, it became even harder. Thank you again for helping me to find Hank a new home, Rescue Me!

I have had great success finding homes for animals in need through Rescue Me! Erica met her new little boy, Barlow, and I feel he couldn't have been placed better. She recently lost a dog from an unexpected accident, and Barlow has helped her heart. Wonderful to have this resource to find homes for dogs nationwide!

We are so glad that Alfie was able to find a new home, but sad to see him go! Thank you Rescue Me for helping us reach a network of wonderful people so quickly. We had over one hundred inquiries about our puppy and were able to interview many qualified and loving dog owners until we found the person with the exact living situation that would make Alfie happiest. We are incredibly grateful to Rescue Me because now our little Alfie has a loving home, forever.

Within the same day that we posted on Rescue Me, wonderful rescuer who has trained dogs since 1973 called about adopting Mishka. We set up a meeting and saw how good he was with her. She is going to a very nice neighborhood. It was obvious he saw great potential in her and will love her. With so many great dogs on this site that need rescue, I am now a believer. God bless all of you!

Thank you so much for offering this great resource for rescues and adopters. I run a very small rescue without a large following. Chip is a very special boy that needed a very special adopter. He was adopted today with the exposure from Rescue Me. Besides Chip, I have also found several other amazing adopters (or should I say, they found me) Thank you!

My family and I have to relocate to another state for a job promotion. Although we were very pleased to do so it came with a heavy heart that we had to rehome our beloved puppy, Kiki. Within hours of posting Kiki on Rescue Me we were getting calls (mostly local) to adopt her. We ended up finding a great family for her in a great location. We are extremely happy with Rescue Me and more importantly, knowing that Kiki will be well taken care of.

I was thrilled that there was a place to go to post for adoption for my father's Lhasa Apso after he broke his hip and was no longer able to care for her. She was adopted by a lovely young woman who drove from a neighboring state. You made the process easy and pain free and I am happy to know she found a good home and getting loved as she deserves. I was so surprised that an older dog was wanted and there were requests for her within hours of posting. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Our family had our Blue Point Himalayan for over 20 years. He is in God's keeping now, but our hearts have been troubled and our sorrow has almost turned to grief. I have been a supporter of the Rescue Me organization for several years. I am set up for emails specific to Dalmatian and Himalayan breeds. Over the years I have never seen a Blue Point, and was incredibly surprised this morning to open the link and see a cat so close in appearance to my Nicholas that I was truly taken aback. Even more amazing is the fact that she was about 14 minutes from my home. I called the contact number, made arrangements to see the kitty, and now tonight she's at home in her new forever home. And the family circumstances of this cat's home were so touching. We feel so privileged to give their family confidence that we will love and cherish the opportunity to take care of this cat. Just tonight watching her brings back some of my favorite heartfelt memories of the love I had for my other cat. She is so similar in her mannerisms that it's healing my heart. Thank you for all that you to bring treasures pets to families like ours. We appreciate all that you do.

I am so thankful for Rescue Me. I had taken in my aunt's senior Chihuahua after her sudden passing. I had intended to find him a home immediately, but became very attached to the little love bug. But it became quickly clear, I didn't have the time he deserved and my husband wanted me to get rid of him right away because of his allergies. To make things worse, we found out soon after getting him that Chip had congestive heart failure. He was on meds that stabilized his condition to where he could have a very good quality of life. However, the condition meant he was pretty much unadoptable and no other rescue groups were able to help him. I was about to give up hope until I came upon Rescue Me. Within a week of posting, I was contacted by the PERFECT home. I couldn't have asked for a better result to such a tragic set of circumstances. Chip deserved a good home to live out the rest of his years and with Rescue Me's help we found it.

After three months of much turmoil, accusations, threats and despair from the rest of the family, I finally was pointed to the Rescue Me site. Almost immediately I received responses. Most were serious responses, some not so much. There were several wonderful German Shepherd folks that I had lengthy conversations with over the phone, which helped with the whole letting Heidi go syndrome I was having. Actually, the very first couple to meet Heidi were the adopters. I had very mixed feelings letting her go. Heidi was Dad's dog and he loved her to pieces. Letting her go was another piece of my Dad being let go. After he passed with no instructions for her care, I took it upon myself to get her the proper loving home. What an emotional task that I was not prepared for. I will always keep the Rescue Me site in my heart and prayers for all the help they gave to me, as well as all the other beauties they save every day. Sincerely, Lynn Ann

Buddy and Dodie were adopted together to the most amazing furever home I could have imagined! Thanks to this website, a family that loves senior Shih Tzus took in these two and I just know they are the perfect fit. The new Mom, Dad and Grandma came to pick them up and Dodie and Buddy went to their new home Saturday after a stop at the groomer's. They were snuggled into their new dog beds with new toys. I explained to the new family (at our first meet and greet) just who my grandparents were and how Buddy and Dodie lived for the first 14 years of life. In their honor, middle names were added to each: Dodie Jayne (my Grandma's name) and Buddy James (Grandpa's name). God bless Rescue Me and God bless Traci and Brian (new Mom and Dad). Thank you all who inquired and prayed for these senior babies.

Ziggy has found a wonderful, loving home thanks to this site. He and his new mom bonded well. He has a big fenced in yard to play in and a swimming pool where he can learn to swim. He will not be alone all day as he was with me. I am so grateful to his new family, especially his mom. She was very caring and considerate of my feelings and what a difficult decision this was for me. She even invited me to come and visit if I wanted to. Thank you, Rescue Me! I am so grateful there is a safe place to go for adoptions.

Daisy was a service dog by chance. Her owner is deaf and she learned to signal him for many things through her five years of service. But he then went blind. Daisy tried to guide him for a year, on walks and through his new very small room/apartment. She ended up hurt and so did he. I was asked to take her to the shelter, a blessing in disguise. They were full of natural disaster animals. Our hero, Carol, saw our Rescue Me post. Her husband, still heartbroken by the loss of their Border Terrier, took some convincing. The month at my house with small children, a puppy and two cats did wonders. We went to meet Carol, who brought her husband and the trial period became Daisy's retirement forever home. Now she goes on six mile morning walks on the beach where there are always other dogs to romp with and also get to play with a four year old granddaughter. Thank you Jesus, Carol and Joe! Also, thank you Rescue Me and the dog walker, Penny, who posted a video! Blessings!

Our family is relocating and we will not be able to bring our aging boxers. I have been trying to figure out what to do about this and came upon Rescue Me! Three days after posting both of my Boxers have a new home. This is especially special because that sweet angel lady took Laila knows that her best years are behind her and her hips are failing. The vet offered to put her down a week before and we decided to hold off because Laila is not ready. My family is so grateful. My family really misses them, but can rest better knowing they are in a good environment.

Nine pets adopted to approved owners in as many months by the Rescue Me site viewers. That's what rescue is all about! Happy journeys start at the rescue level, but it takes a blessing to find forever families for these rescues. The help Rescue Me offers is fantastic and they support the rescuers on their site at every stage of the process. Nine animals with a family forever. No greater blessing than that.

I adopted Joey. He is a wonderful, energetic three year old who has found his way into my heart and my home. I lost my husband from leukemia, and then I lost our 13 year old Chihuahua, Dumplyn, to kidney failure this year. When I saw the posting on Rescue Me for Joey, I knew the time was right to give him his new forever home. In the short time I have had him, he has helped to fill the void left in my life by the passing of my husband and Dumplyn. We enjoy our walks, and when I tuck him under his blanket in his bed at night, then when I awake, he is under the blanket on my bed and comes out to give me all sorts of precious kisses. He loves to follow me EVERYWHERE, and he knows I don't mind a bit! We both have a lot of love to give to each other. Thank you, Rescue Me, for bringing Joey and me together.

I signed up a couple of weeks ago for Rescue Me alerts. I really liked how easy it was to choose the type of dog I was looking to rescue. A couple mornings ago I saw a poodle rescue list. I clicked through the photos hoping to find a good match. As soon as I saw Joey, I knew he would be perfect! I am allergic to dogs and a Labradoodle was perfect for me. I quickly called the rescue and was able to schedule an appointment the next day to meet him. Wah-la! As soon as I met him I fell in love. He is so sweet, gentle, kind and fits perfectly into our home. The woman who had him was very helpful, kind, and gave me lots of information about him. She even checked on him the next day. We are taking it slow as he adapts to his new home. Little by little he is warming up, wagging his tail, sniffing around and being playful. Thank you Rescue Me for providing such a wonderful service for both parties.

Wow! Rescue Me, thank you! We have the most amazing story to share! Our beloved Memphis found a new home yesterday. His new owner is a young disabled veteran with PTSD. Memphis will live out his days as a service dog. He has two new human brothers, a six year old boy and an eleven month old boy. He will get all the love, attention and exercise he truly deserves and the unique and honorable opportunity to serve his countrymen. I hope this happy ending rescue story will inspire others to do something for someone in need in the community. Bless you, Memphis, just for being you! We love and cherish you always.

We could not keep our dear Hamilton, but within hours of posting his picture and profile on Rescue Me, we were in contact with his forever home. We took him for a visit and they loved him. He was the dog they had been searching for four weeks. He is now with them and we are so thankful we could re-home him and not surrender him to a shelter or pound. Thank you for a quick and easy site to connect animal lovers. Thank you from the people who can't keep their pets to the ones searching for their next family pet. Love you forever, Hammy.

I have adopted two dogs from Rescue Me! I have to say it's the best experience I have ever had as far as owning a pet. I had a very loved pet pass away and I felt such a devastating loss that I wanted to help another animal. I had never adopted a rescue before. The two dogs that I rescued immediately became my family and filled up a large part of the void I was feeling. They are so sweet and well behaved. I will never adopt another puppy, I will always rescue. Rescues are so happy and want to please. Wonderful pets plus you find out a little about their personality up front so you know if they will fit into your household or not.

Buddy is a sweet little guy who lost his mom (my good friend) to a stroke. Her family was so distraught about their loss that I offered to try to find Buddy a home. Searching the web, I found Rescue Me and am I ever glad that I did. Over a period of five or six days, I received many inquiries on the little guy and finally set up a meeting today with a wonderful lady who needed Buddy in her life. They hit it off immediately and, after half an hour, Buddy was standing up in the passenger seat of a fancy sports car wagging his tail as hard as he could. Shades of 'Legally Blonde' went through our heads as he was escorted to a new life.... All because of the wonderful work of the dedicated staff of Rescue Me! Your website is so very user friendly and communication is certainly easily facilitated. When my magnificent Catahoula says her final goodbyes, I know where I will find another forever friend. Thanks so much for everything you at Rescue Me do for us pet lovers and the 'babies' we love so much.

When we got Dobby it was because no one wanted him and he was going to be given to a pound. We knew he was blind, but we didn't know that he also had seizures. Another thing we didn't know was that we would be having a baby soon. We had Dobby for about a year, and he was such a sweetheart. When we had our baby though we couldn't provide him with the time that he needed because we had him, two other dogs, a cat, two boys, and a new baby girl. We posted him on here to try and find him a new family that could provide him with the love he needs. We were blessed that he found a wonderful home and we knew immediately it was the home for him. We were recently sent pictures from the new family and he is doing wonderfully and looks wonderfully spoiled. So happy and thankful for Rescue Me!

We adopted Chester from Joanne after we lost our beloved Chocolate Lab, Ranger, after having him for 15 years. This little guy is one of the nicest dogs we've ever had and we have owned lots of dogs over the last 50 years. He has filled a big empty spot in our lives. He is 10 months old and has found his forever home right here with us. We have always taken excellent care of our dogs and spared no expense when it comes to their health and well being, and it will be exactly the same with Chester. The hardest part was leaving Joanne's home with him because we knew how hard it was for her to give him up. She had reached the point in life where she felt she could no longer give him the care she thought he needed, and had the strength and courage to transfer him to someone who could. Her dog's wellbeing was very important to her. She has an open invitation to come visit him any time. We would not have found Joanne or Chester without Rescue Me and very much appreciate your website. Larry and Mary LeFever

Having to re-home a pet is a heartbreaking process and one that I hope no one has to go through. While you may think that it will never happen to you, sometimes it is in the best interests of the family and pet. Unfortunately I did have to go through this process and thanks to Rescue Me I was able to find the best possible home for my Oliver. After meeting with the new family and seeing how much they love and spoil their dogs (and how much my little guy loved them immediately), I knew I was doing the right thing. Although I am still sad, I know I have done what is best for Oliver. Thank you so much to Rescue Me for providing this service to rescue groups and individuals.

Stella is now a US Army fitness coach! She was adopted by an Army Airborne troop and his wife. Jeff, Stella's new Dad, said he wanted a companion to keep him motivated to stay in top physical condition! That's a good thing, Stella loves to run on leash or off. She's in a home now with no children or other pets. So, now she has her own place without competition from other dogs. We rescued Stella at four months old from her owner, an 86 year old woman, who realized she bit off more than she could chew! We raised her, trained her, and fell in love with her. It was hard to let her go, but she was not going to share us with our other dogs. Now she has an ideal home and a great life ahead! Thanks so much, Rescue Me!

I am a hospice patient and have two animals in my home. One is a 13 year old neutered Akita, who has severe arthritis, is almost completely blind and deaf, and he has an extreme amount of difficulty getting up and down from the floor by himself due to hip pain. Additionally, he has suffered multiple strokes and seizures, and takes medication at least four times a day to help control pain and seizures. Unfortunately, it is likely that he will have to be euthanized soon due to his complex medical issues, but for right now, he is comfortable and stable. My other animal is a ten year old Norfolk Terrier mix. He is in excellent health, and is still very vibrant and full of life. He is also neutered, current on all his vaccinations, and takes heartworm and flea and tick medication regularly. He is heartworm negative, has no medical issues, and our vet tells us that he is quite sturdy and likely to live another seven to ten years. So it was with a heavy heart that I had to make the decision to re-home the terrier mix, as my own health is rapidly declining. It became clear that the little guy needed to find a new forever home, and soon. After trying him in various family and local placement situations, I was not having any luck finding him a permanent placement. He is not cat friendly (or ferret, or bird), but does fine with other dogs. A sweet and submissive personality, low energy, and a true cuddle bug. Loves to snuggle and be petted and loved on as much as you are willing to do so. He deserved to find a new home before time ran out for me, leaving me no other option than to have him euthanized. He had too much life still left to live, especially since he is a bit of a clown and brings a lot of smiles and laughter into our home. He needed someone to love him and welcome him into their home, and even though he is already ten years old, he still has plenty of years to offer love and companionship. After not having any luck locally trying to find him a forever placement, with the best-case scenario being an offer that he would be accepted as a foster with a rescue group, I was determined to find him a permanent placement. I simply could not allow him the uncertainty and stress of being in a foster situation, with no guarantee of a permanent placement. I owed him the safety and love of a permanent home, as it was not his fault that his human companion's health was rapidly deteriorating, leaving us little time to find him a new home. In desperation really, in the hopes of finding a miracle for him, I put his picture and profile on Rescue Me, hoping against hope that an angel might find him and fall in love with him and offer him a loving and safe forever home. Within about two weeks, I had a number of inquiries, but one such inquiry stood out among all the others. Someone willing to drive six hours to meet him. A retired couple who had several other senior rescues in their home. We exchanged many emails and phone calls, and after serious consideration, a date was set for them to drive the six hours to come see if there might be a match. I don't think I've prayed that hard in a very long time. It just felt right, like it was a match that was meant to be. What are the chances that we would find a loving home for an older dog; a home where he would be safe, and loved, and treated with tenderness and care? It was a long shot, but I truly believed they were his miracle angels. The meeting took place, and he took to them immediately (not surprisingly). He cuddled and snuggled and showed off his silly side. He kissed and giggled and gave them those warm brown Eeyore eyes. They both had very calm and quiet personalities, and they expressed how they felt drawn to at least try to give him a chance. It was extremely difficult to let our little guy go, but we were so incredibly blessed to have found Helen and Karl, who not only welcomed him into their home, but also immediately had him examined by their vet, (who found out he was harboring an ear infection, which is currently being treated). I feel incredibly blessed to have found not only responsible pet owners who will ensure he is in good health, but more than that, we are so happy for our little guy to have a new forever home where he will have plenty of love and snuggles for all the remaining years of his life. Yes, we were looking for a miracle, and Rescue Me helped deliver that miracle for our little guy. Our little Ozzie Doodle needed an angel, and he needed someone to find him, and very soon before time ran out, and thankfully, that happened to him. We are forever grateful to his new adoptive parents (and to his sibling doggie family, too). He will love having other doggie brothers and sisters to cuddle and snuggle with, and he is so very lucky to have found such sweet and loving and generous-hearted people who would welcome him into their home. Thank you to Helen and Karl, and thank you to Rescue Me too. Amen.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have shared our home with a beautiful toy poodle named Butterscotch for 13 years. When Butterscotch died two years ago, we knew that we would adopt another poodle, but decided to wait until we retired to bring a new dog into our home. We both retired in June and felt drawn to adopt an older dog. We were getting alerts from Rescue Me for a few months and just kept going back to Lucky! There was something about his entry that touched us and so we decided to contact his owner. After talking on the phone and learning about Lucky's background and some of his physical challenges, we decided to take a ride up to meet our little senior friend. What can I say? It was love at first sight! We took to each other right away! Despite his senior status, Lucky has a lot of energy. He loves a good walk and is very friendly. He's just a sweet, old guy who needed a home where he could get lots of time and attention. His former owner wanted to do right by Lucky and we are happy that he was comfortable in choosing us. Lucky settled in so easily to our home. He's a well mannered little cuddle-bug and we just love him. Thanks Rescue Me for the work you do! We are the 'Lucky' ones!

My husband and I wanted a Rat Terrier to help us on the property with squirrels, rats and mice. If Radison, aka Ratty, can help us with that it will be icing on the cake. She is such a sweet and lively little bundle of energy. My husband is so happy with her, he gets up early every morning to take her out for her potty time. We recently found out from our Vet that at six months of age, she has no hearing in one ear and only a very small amount in the other. At first I was saddened to hear this new development. However, she is a blessing and this only means we will have to rely on hand signals more than sound, which is more natural for dogs anyways. In three weeks, she has already learned to sit on command, potty outside and 'NO Chasing the Chickens'! I encourage everyone to adopt a pet (cat or dog) from Rescue Me! These animals need our help and the people who rescue them too.

I rescued two Schnauzers from a home where someone moved out and had left the dogs with the trash. They had been beaten, neglected, starved and abandoned. I fell in love with them instantly and wanted so badly to keep them, but having four dogs and a cat, it was just impossible not just because I have several dogs already, but because if I kept them there would be no room for other dogs in need of a foster mom. It took over a month for me to gain their trust as their spirits were so badly broken. I spent literally hundreds of hours with them showering them with as much love, affection and attention that they could possibly stand. I was annoyingly relentless, but the effort paid off!. Finally, it was time to find them a forever home, I prayed and prayed and prayed some more that I would find the perfect family for them and I did! Within an hour after posting on Rescue Me, I received phone calls from all over the country, including two rescue centers that wanted to help. I chose a family who rented a vehicle to drive the dogs back because they felt flying would be cruel because they've been scared enough. I will not mention her name, but the lady wasn't in my house for five minutes and the dogs fell in love with her I couldn't believe it... It took a month for me to get that close. They've been in their new family for about two months, and I receive photos and video several times a week. They have their shots, they have been spayed and neutered and their vet found that their liver count was low and put them on medication. They are doing great.!! This family has spared no expense to ensure their well-being. They are loved, respected, pampered and adored. I am truly overwhelmed and so grateful to Rescue Me for being there and also for being in contact with me to ensure that these beautiful animals have been placed in a great home. I certainly could not have done it without you. This site is amazing. I would like to thank Jeff Gold, Founder of Rescue Me, and the incredible staff for all of your hard work. YOU ARE APPRECIATED! Please keep up the good work. God bless, An eternally grateful foster mom

I posted an 11 year old German Shepherd for adoption with a prayer an angel would show up to adopt him. He is not my dog; I was posting for someone else. He had been chained out all his life. He never experienced a bath. And by the way, he is blind. Despite this, he had a wonderful demeanor, standing tall and looking gorgeous. A young man felt compassion for his story that a veteran of the army was the one surrendering him. His heart connected with his special needs, and was so handsome! That young man sacrificed some things, no doubt. The Shepherd had his first warm bath and blow dry, nail trim, and rode to his new home wearing a brand new collar, lying on a new blanket, with a new, better diet. He has a life in his new home with his very own pet cats who rub his face! His vet appointment will determine his future health. Perhaps if things go well now, he will get help for his eyes because his condition is unique. Time will tell. I have never stopped my prayers. Thank you, Rescue Me!

These two are amazing! They are everything we could ask for in two, adorable doggies. We traveled 1400 miles to pick them up and drive them to their new forever home, and they were perfect gentleman. They have been home for a day and a half and it's as if they'd been here all their lives. Happy, fun as heck, love their walks and new yard and new house. We love them so much and they love us too. Dual snoring is so cute! OMG, this pair is the missing puzzle piece for sure. Thank you for making it possible, Rescue Me.

This is Julez. His story began a few years earlier when he had a brother named Moo. They lived outside in a not so good home with sporadic food and poor shelter. Moo was the bait dog and Julez was the fighter. It could never be proven, so despite several attempts to have them removed, this is where they stayed. At one point , Moo's wounds were so bad that he was finally removed and found love in a good home. That was to be short lived, because within a few years he had to say goodbye due to heart worm. His tail kept thumping until the very end. Julez was not so lucky. He still spent the next three years chained outside. He finally caught a break when his owner surrendered him. My son and his wife, who had taken in Moo, also took in Julez. But Julez was not Moo. Moo loved everything. Julez hated cats, so he couldn't stay inside. He was walked every evening and got attention, but we all know that is no life for a dog. It all came to a head when they had to sell their house and had no place to go other than to rent. Renting + pit bull = disaster. So Julez needed a home. The shelter was not an option. So began the race against time. Begging others to share on Facebook, contacting rescues, most who would not even answer. I have found in the world of rescue, there are so many who are so jaded and full of drama, due to the endless stories of desertion and abuse. But keep in mind there are some out there who desperately need help because they have no other option. So I posted on Rescue Me. It was my last hope. There was one amazing response... A man and his wife. They saw Julez picture and fell in love with him! References checked and home check done, and 'adopted'. He has PTSD and was recommended by his doctor to get a companion animal, and she can't have children, so she says he will be treated like her baby. She also just lost her dad, and depression was creeping in. They saved Julez and he returned the favor. Julez is now an inside only dog sleeping with his owners on a king size bed. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Bob and I lost our boy Buddy. Our hearts were broken until we met our girls Cookie and Cupcake. We all had an instant connection. I knew their pain and they knew mine. That was the longest ride home. I tried not to cry, but to trust God for the outcome. We told Joanne that we wanted the best thing for these girls and we would try to be patient while she made a decision. The next morning I received a text message telling us that the girls were ours and they would be delivering them to us on Saturday. I never knew two little girls could have so much stuff. What a blessing my sweet little angels are. They, of course, slept with us that Saturday night and we all slept like babies. My girls are worth every day, minute, hour and months we waited. Thank you just doesn't say enough about how grateful we are to Rescue Me! Our family is now complete again.

Just wanted to say thank you to Rescue Me for helping us find the perfect home for our adult Aussie 'Jackson'!!! A change in our living situation made it necessary for us to find another home for him. I placed a post through the site and had several inquiries. The one that stood out as the best fit for him turned out to be the perfect match!! Lamar and Jana were looking for another Aussie to adopt and after several communications we decided on a trial over Memorial Day weekend. He was immediately welcomed into their home and he felt content right away! Jack, as many Aussies, tended to be cautious of new people but that wasn't the case with the Jenkins family, and just after a day he was feeling right at home with them. As hard as it was to part with him it was so important that he was content in his new home and that made my heart happy!! Thanks again! Vicki1

Joansey was left abandoned in the yard with her brother and another pet when her owner was arrested. The neighbors shot at Joansey, her brother and the other pet. Her brother, Jones, died from the wounds a week later. The other pet, Takeo, had to have surgery due to his wounds and lived. He was adopted as well. Joansey, who hid under the house, escaped without injury. However, she was traumatized and very timid because of her experiences. Because of the help of Rescue Me and others, she got her fur ever home. This is what Rescue Me does for these pets, gives them a chance at a decent live. I am endlessly grateful for their help.

By kismet alone, we happened to be at a high kill shelter when this dog was being surrendered. We talked with the family and asked if we could take him into our rescue and asked that they keep him until we could find a foster. They gave us one week. Within that week, we posted on adoption sites, including Rescue Me. This is where his new family saw him. They emailed us, filled out an application, and allowed us to do a home check before even meeting the dog. We did a final meet and greet a week after we first met the dog, less than 24 hours after we physically removed him from his home and brought him into a rescue. It was instant attraction on both sides. He is now home, nine days after he was to be surrendered to the shelter, with a family that will love and cherish him until his time comes to walk across that Rainbow Bridge. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Cooper is a dog in my small town that had been abused and rescued. He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound obtained by a teenager who had lost both parents while still in high school. The young man was unable to care for Cooper, and left him with the person providing him shelter as he went to work weekly. The person evicted Cooper, and the young man relocated to a nearby town. I brought Cooper home and provided LOVE, food, shelter, and medical care. He now has a home with lots of land. Cooper was posted available for adoption after two months of training and rehabilitation with TIGAS. His post was on Rescue Me for less than two weeks. Thank you, Rescue Me, for this opportunity to help re-home loving, healthy, animals in need.

Roxie was abandoned near a dog park as a puppy. Our neighbor found her, and we ended up taking her in. We knew our life was too busy to care for such a young and active dog. So we trained her a bit and socialized her and posted her on Rescue Me where a wonderful couple adopted her to join their other two dogs, including another Staffy. We're so happy that the Rescue Me website exists and helped Roxie find a true doggy paradise.

Today, George got adopted by a wonderful family with two younger children and another sheep dog. It was heartbreaking to let go of George. We have been there for him for over a year. But this is HIS family. They love him, they want him and their dog is very happy to have George living with him now. We rescued George from a miserable, lonely life on a chain. We already have three other rescue dogs, so we knew we needed to find him a new family. We talked to local shelters and the Humane Society, but we really wanted to decide who would get George. We posted him here on Rescue Me. Within an hour of posting him, a very nice woman called. She had waited for a sheep dog to come up on the site. Several other people contacted us as well, but this one person really wanted him. We spent a couple of weeks emailing and talking on the phone and her family seemed to be an obvious choice. So today, George met his new family for the first time. He seemed relaxed and at ease with them. He was a little unsure of what was going on, but it looked like a really good match so they took George home. As soon as they got home, they emailed us and sent us pictures and let us know their existing dog is very gentle with him, as if he knows George needs a little support right now. So, thanks to this website, George is finally in his forever home. He was rescued after about seven years of neglect, but now he gets to spend the rest of his life being loved and he will never be alone again. Thanks, Jeff, for making this site available! It made all the difference. The $100.00 adoption fee is a donation to the site.

Though many of you know the beginning story of my life was not so good, but, let me tell you about the next chapter! My foster mommy put my picture here on Rescue Me, and I must of caused a lot of buzz because her phone rang all the time and I could hear her saying my name a lot. Then she got a call that made her cry. She told me that she found the perfect forever home for me. I was confused, I thought she was the perfect one? After putting all my special toys in the car we took a really long car ride where I laid on her lap for the last time. I guess I must of fallen asleep and when I woke up there was a beautiful lady standing outside the car window. I was startled and barked my loudest bark I thought I had to protect my foster mom. I then realized we were there. My new home and that beautiful lady on the other side of the window was my mommy. My mommies talked for a long time that day as I got to explore. I was sad when my foster mommy had to leave and she was too. She was crying and knew that this was hard for her. My mommy sends her pictures all the time of me and she is so happy. The best part of this story is my new mommy. I didn't think I could be loved so much. She protects me, cuddles me and makes me happy all the time. My foster mommy was right, this is the perfect forever home. I love my new mommy and daddy and I have a human brother and lots of dog cousins that my mommy babysits for. I am so happy my picture was put on here because if not I wouldn't of ever of found my mommy. I love her so much. Thank you Rescue Me for helping make my story ending such a wonderful one. Love, Paisley

Jack found a place where he is needed. Jack is going to be a service dog. Jack was very well trained, so we had five people interested in adopting him within the first week. We made him a Facebook page, so people could see more of his pictures and a video of him going through his routine, sitting, down, heeling, wait, etc., all off leash. He was professionally trained in a local prison program. He seemed pleased with his new family. The video was the key to getting offers for him. I am very sad to see him go, but there was no choice in the matter. Jack was very attentive and affectionate. Most of the people who responded to our Rescue Me post had a need for his healing ways. I am so pleased I was able to find a home for him.

I adopted two beautiful Chihuahuas through Rescue Me. I would highly recommend using this site. I originally went to see Tinkerbell, but after meeting Foxy I couldn't leave with just one. My husband and I fell in love with both upon meeting them. We already had three dogs at home. That night we had four dogs sleeping with us in bed with my Greyhound on his comfy bed next to us on the floor. I could tell from speaking to Nicole and her husband that they are truly devoted to finding good homes for these poor dogs, some with horrible beginnings. Foxy and Belle will always be loved and cared for. They stole our hearts. So happy I found them.

There is no doubt that Rescue Me saved the life of one of the most amazing dogs I have ever met! I am a dispatcher at the local Sheriff's Office and happened to answer the phone when a neighbor was calling to see if he could 'shoot' the neighbor's dog after exhausting all attempts to find it a home. I searched for Pit Bull Rescues while I was on the phone with him and found Rescue Me. I asked if he could give me a week to try to use technology in placing this dog. He agreed. I immediately posted the information I had on Revolver. Within five hours, I received a phone call from someone who was willing to adopt him. I had yet to meet the dog, so I was a bit hesitant as I was told he was aggressive. I had to figure out how I was going to transport a dog, knowing he may sense my fear of him. We picked a day and my 14 hour adventure began. I pulled up to the residence and was greeted by this amazing dog, Revolver, who was so happy to see people. His owner has been incarcerated for six weeks and the caring neighbor would go over daily to feed and care for two pit bulls abandoned on the property. Within minutes, Revolver and I were fast friends. He sat in the cab of my truck as we began our long trip of transporting him. Revolver became my co-pilot for the day. A long day driving and several rest stops later, I was amazed at how well behaved Revolver was. He watched for me from the truck to ensure I was not leaving him for long. He played and walked right by my side each stop we made a stop. Finally arriving at our destination to meet up with his new owner, I realized how sad it made me to have to give him up. He greeted his new owner and they seemed to hit it off. As I walked away, Revolver tried to follow, I gave him lots more love and watched them drive away. I am elated that I intercepted the phone call, and that Rescue Me is a resource and for all the kind people involved in giving these dogs a chance. My blessing ended when I was able to find a local home for the second dog. This was an amazing series of events that saved two precious dogs! Thank you! Without Rescue Me, Revolver would have been put down!

I'm sure no one has had a success story like mine. I had a few people contact me for my baby, Angel. There was one lady that stood out among the others. She and her husband and their son were more than what I expected to find. Angel would be treated just as she was treated at home with me. The only reason I was giving Angel up was I had to move and I could not afford to pay the deposit for having an animal. Stephanie and Robert came to my house to pick her up. As they were leaving, I was crying because I was going to miss Angel so much. About an hour later, I got a phone call from Stephanie saying that she cried all the way home and knew how she would have felt should it have been her baby. She then informed me that they talked it over, and they wanted to pay my deposit so I could keep Angel. They wouldn't take no for an answer. So, I still have my little girl with me and I have met two new friends. They also wanted to update her shots this year and every year. God sent them to me, I firmly believe. Stephanie and I text every day. I now have two new best friends. I love you Stephanie and Robert. Thank you, Rescue Me, for putting us together.

Buddy is now a spoiled 'only child' of a retired couple. This couple had always had a larger breed dog and were ready for the challenge that Buddy might bring. However, he seemed to understand what was expected in this home and hasn't caused any trouble at all. He crates himself in the evenings and is even socializing with the older cats. One thing that he has started doing in his new home is 'talk'. He never tried to communicate with fosters, but in this home, he has started talking. They say he is asking to go outside and asks for treats too. Maybe it is just that his forever home is listening! Great home! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Witnesses saw a red pickup truck push a Walker Hound out at the top of the mountain pass between here and the next city. The dog tried to climb back into the truck but the man kicked him and started driving. The poor animal chased after as the truck sped away. He was already skin and bone when that happened. For the next three weeks a number of people stopped and tried to help the dog but he'd always run away. He was scared to death of humans. Finally one evening when temps were expected to drop below freezing, two little girls convinced their Mom to stop and try again. After over a half hour hunkered down behind their car, using it as a wind block, they extended their hands with treats repeating, it's ok - it's ok. The poor skeleton that was once a dog, who had been surviving on road kill, gave in and came to them. Once the girls got him in the car they drove quickly to Angels Retreat Rescue. They put him in one of the pens where he had shelter, food and water but it took me three days to get him to let me touch him. Admittedly, I bribed him with a bowl of chicken and rice. I was getting desperate. As I sat, petting him that night, for some reason, I decided he should be named Maxwell. Max went to the vet for what we suspect was the first time in his life. Doc estimated him to be just over a year old and he only weighed 53 pounds. He got his vaccinations, a microchip and neutered. Thank God he was heartworm negative. After vetting, Max came indoors with the rest of the population and started crate training and leash walking. It took a while to get past the food aggression, but after six weeks with a full bowl he finally figured out he'd get fed. The other dogs helped me get him house broken and taught him to play. He'd play with anything. In fact, his last day here I laughed out loud when I looked out my office window and saw him running up the hill in the yard with an empty plastic bag from chicken leg quarters. Today Max, AKA Maxwell, AKA Maximus Wiggilus was adopted. He'd crate trained, house broken and not scared. He's happy and about to get happier. As I type this his new Mom is most likely just getting home from the eight-hour round trip drive to get him and introducing him to his very own, THREE little boys. And as every good story should end, they all lived happily ever after.

Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping us with the re-homing of our beloved Cody when we could no longer keep him. Thanks to you, we found a wonderful new home for him and also received many inquiries from other interested families. Not only that, but a volunteer agreed to provide a foster home if he was not adopted soon. Rescue Me went above and beyond. Their kindness to animals and to us along with their top-notch organization and speedy outreach provide a testament to the very best in our community. We can feel assured that Cody is in a wonderful place, thanks to this admirable agency.

Thank you, Rescue Me! You helped tremendously in finding a wonderful home for our pup. We received 20 responses within 24 hours time, from all across the country. It's always very difficult to choose the right one, but we think he will be very happy and loved in his new home.

Mercury came to us after being chained up outside his whole life. He never got to lay in a warm, soft bed or lay on someone's lap feeling a human touch. That all changed last week when a wonderful family fell madly in love with this precious boy, and with tears in their eyes they kept saying we can't believe he's actually ours! They continue to send wonderful pictures of Mercury. He now knows what a warm bed feels like and the love of a family! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Twittle was only posted for two days. The number of emails and calls from his Rescue Me post was phenomenal. He was adopted into a very loving home. Thanks, Rescue Me.

Autumn was at a full kill shelter where they were begging for help for her. I took her, had her transported, fixed and vetted. Within two weeks, I found the perfect forever home for her with the nicest people. They just loved her, and they waited for an extra week since she had to be fixed. They were so excited about getting her. I am really going to miss Autumn. That was one special dog. Thank you, Rescue Me and the adopters. Another happy ending.

Lilly was seven years old and had to stay on a runner. A family who rescues hounds came to the house yesterday to look at her. I thought she was going to lick them to death! I had never seen her take up with anyone so quickly. I thought, how in the world are they going to get her in the car? Heck! She jumped right up in there with no problems. The couple told me anytime I wanted to visit with her to give them a call. It was very difficult to see her go to a new home, but I knew she was going to have a much happier life being able to run and play. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping find her a happy family.

I posted Gambit's description and picture on Rescue Me and we received three email requests. Within seven days, we had him in a new home with experienced dog owners. Now he is in his new home with a fenced in yard and plenty of space to play. Thanks, Rescue Me, for connecting him with such good people.

My mother passed away unexpectedly, just six days after her 87th birthday, leaving her faithful companion, Annie, without a home. On the last day of her life, Mother asked my brother to leave the hospital to go home and check on Annie. She felt Annie would be worried. When mother didn't come home, Annie was sad and confused. All of our family members already have multiple dogs, so it was our prayer to find a loving, forever home for 11 year old Annie. The loss of Mother was difficult, but not knowing Annie's fate made it even more distressing. Just one day after posting an Annie's story on Rescue Me, I received several messages from folks saying they'd like to meet Annie. On about the third day, I got a call. Wendy said she'd lost her 14 year old Aussie a month ago and she wanted to give Annie a home. I told her that Annie had been without grooming for over a year and I wanted to get her cleaned up before anyone saw her. Wendy said I had enough on my mind, that she would have her groomed and not to worry about anything. Wendy already had a small dog, so I told her Annie hadn't been socialized, that she was raised on a farm and I wasn't sure how she'd react to another dog. Wendy wasn't discouraged. We delivered Annie to Wendy and the love story began. The groomer came the next day, and Wendy presented Annie with a red sweater and a collar with rhinestones on it. Annie met her new brother, Bandit, and they hit it off immediately. I've been invited to visit Annie any time and Wendy has sent text messages and pictures to me on a regular basis, giving me updates on Annie's new journey. I'm so thankful for our good fortune. I believe Wendy was our angel, an answer to our prayers through Rescue Me.

I can't fully express my gratitude for this site and the family who adopted my Bull Mastiff! Just when I was feeling hopeless, he was taken into a great home with a companion female. I know he will be well taken care of. Thank you! Thank you!

My two Yorkies, who I've had for seven years, were adopted within two days of being posted on Rescue Me. A nice lady adopted both of them so they were able to stay together. Nice to know there is a site where pet parents can find loving homes. Thanks!

Thank you, Rescue Me. Frankie found a new home within 24-hours and in the area. He now has many more brothers and sisters (and step-brothers a.k.a. ponies) who accepted him into their family. He even has more space to run around than before. The family's daughter decided within minutes of meeting Frankie that he will sleep with her dogs in her room. Enough friends to play with and more than enough hands to give him attention. I know he will be okay. Thank you, Ann, for taking my little boy and giving him the good home he deserves. May he bring you the joy he gave me. Warm Regards, Riaan

I needed to find a forever home for my sister's dachshund, LuLu. My sister is dying of pancreatic cancer, and due to my full time job, I am not able to give her the time and attention she needed. I posted on Rescue Me, and, within an hour, I had a number of inquiries. By the end of the day, I had found her the most amazing home where she will be treated like a princess. Rescue Me is such a great place to help you find the right home for any pet.

Rescue Me did an amazing job with helping us find a furever home for Max. We are so thankful. We began receiving emails and phone calls almost immediately after posting him, and we were able to weigh our options. We eventually choose a family that is going to love Max like crazy and spoil the heck out of him. Very happy with every part of this process.

Justin got adopted by a wonderful couple. He was owned by a woman who recently died. The police took him after the death, but he escaped from police and got picked up by Animal Services three days later. He had a large gash on his hip that required stitches. He was hurt, angry, and hated the cone on his head. He bit at everyone who came near, especially men. He was in the killing room when a lady from Animal Services called me. He was rescued 'just in time', hence the name Justin. He was boarded for a month and became a sweetheart and loving and kind, once again. He now has a new family who loves him. The family contacted the deceased woman's family and told them that Justin was ok. Can't get any better than this ending. Thanks, Rescue Me. -Jan

We had our Wheaten Terrier for one year and three months. He came from a shelter. The very first week we had him, he bit our 24 year old nephew and our nine year old son. We thought he just needed to get used to us. He went on to bite three more gentlemen. Soon, we realized he focused his bites on slim males. We kept him because, although a nervous dog, he was so personable and great with the family. We really enjoyed him. Recently, he bit another gentleman, whose wife wanted to call the police on the dog. Due to the fact that we run a used car business at our home, we felt we needed to re-home our dog. Being honest about his aggression, I called the shelter where we got him and they said 'No'. We tried the Wheaten Rescue and were referred to Rescue Me. Within a half hour of posting our dog, I had two replies. Two days later, we met with one of those two people. Two days after that, she took him home for a trial visit. He has remained with them! They know all about him.. His fear, his nervousness, his biting... But they love him and are very eager to work with their vet and behaviorist to make life easier for him. We are very happy with his new family. He even has a Wheaten 'sister.' My kids cried when we told them we would need to re-home the dog, but after seeing pictures and hearing about his new family, they are quite happy for him. This was a great organization to use! Thank you so much, Rescue Me, for saving our dear dog! And an extra thank you to his new family for spending time with us as we say goodbye to our dear dog. This was not easy, but you have been so kind and caring about us. We are glad he has you!

Piper came from a rescue for older dogs. We weren't looking for another family member, but there she was! I was originally told Piper had been adopted. Two days later, I found she had been returned to the rescue. It was just meant to be. I think she was just waiting for me. She fits in beautifully with our three other Chi's. The rescue was wonderful! This is our third Chihuahua from Rescue Me! What a great site!

I posted Ranger on Rescue Me around noon. I got a phone call around 6:30 pm the same day asking if I still have Ranger. I said, 'yes I do'. It sounded too good to be true. Ranger will be at his new home nine days later in a wonderful new home with a family that is going to rehab him and spoil him rotten. I couldn't ask for anyone better for Ranger. I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with his progress. This family also worked very hard on Ranger's transportation to get him there. I would just like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Rescue Me This wouldn't have been possible without you!! Sincerely, Sherri

Tobias was an owner surrender from the animal shelter. Upon our arrival at the vet and through a series of testing, we found he was heart worm positive, Lymes disease positive, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever positive. He also has extreme hip dysplasia, was malnourished from fleas and ticks, and severely abused. Since then, a foster stepped in and saw to it that the vet's bills were paid after a huge donation. Two weeks later at a recheck at the vet, we found Tobias had gone from 77 pounds to 88 pounds. The vet discussed a blood transfusion and possibly having to euthanize Tobias. But, one month to the day, a blood test showed that four weeks of love and care provided by the foster home we found through Rescue Me had turned things around for Tobias. He was in the best home of his life. The foster is now a forever home! Tobias has now been neutered, and next week we begin heart worm treatment, and will get his shots. With the help of Rescue Me, Tobias finally has a place to call home! Thanks, Rescue Me!

Coco found her forever family today! An active, young couple took her home today! They are in love with her. She will get so much attention from them! She will get to go to work with her new Dad. Best of all, she gets to hunt. Her new Mom is clearly going to love her to pieces! It's all we could have asked for! This site is great! We felt much more confident that we could share all of the things about Coco so that the new adopter could make an informed decision before taking her home. Thank you, Rescue Me!

This little guy reached out from the computer and stole our hearts. Our adopted Great Dane lived with us 11 years and died eight years ago. We had been dog-less since. Debating for two weeks since seeing this picture (delayed, because an adoption was pending), we finally took the drive and brought him home. We did our research prior to selecting the Schnauzer mix, so we knew what we were getting. The non-shedding, hypo-allergenic hair was a bonus we hoped for. He is a bit alarmed about things that 'go bump in the night', but is smart as can be and picked up on being house broken easily. With our quick training sessions, in three weeks, he will come, sit, stay, stop at the doorway and on a good day will slap me five. His energy level is perfect for us; we needed to walk more anyway. We call this silly creature Fritz. My husband and I are half in and half out of retirement, a granddaughter visits us often, and Fritz certainly fills our home with joy and laughter perfectly. His size, stamina, and sturdiness, make him a super addition, as our traveling companion too. He's a perfect fit for us, and I think we are a fit for him also. Thank you for your Rescue Me efforts.

IT HAPPENED!!! Sweet Buster has been adopted!! He has the greatest family that is totally in love with him. He has a fur brother to play with and a human nephew to share his cupcake. He was one of two dogs with which I started my rescue. He had been in the shelter since June of last year when I pulled him. I have had this sweet boy for over a year. Thanks to Rescue Me, he found his forever home! Sometimes it just takes a little while to find their families. Thanks to his new mom for choosing him. It was definitely meant to be! I miss his face and wiggly butt so much, but I'm so happy for Buster that I can hardly stand it! Thank you Rescue Me!

To all of you looking for a best friend: My husband has cancer. I love my husband with all my heart. He lost his best friend, a black lab, a couple years ago. I know my husband's favorite dog in the whole world is a German Shepherd. I was determined to get my husband his favorite dog. I looked everywhere. Then, one day, I came across this Rescue Me site. I saw a post saying 'Rescue Me'... Well, it was a miracle. We adopted Jimbo, and he seems to be very happy. I love to see him running and playing with his toys. My husband is happier than I have seen him in a long time. Thank you for making it so easy to make my husband and Jimbo so happy. You are doing good things by helping people and Shepherds come together. -Donna

Thank you to Rescue Me. I adopted Petey along with his brother Clyde. They are 12 weeks old. They were abandoned along with six other pups. They were found in a trash bin. They are wonderful little pups. I recently lost my 14 year old Maltese. I adopted in his honor and I am glad that I did. They both have a great disposition and are fast learners. I love both of my pups. They are a great addition to our family.
